Florida Green Lodging Initiative
Some Green Initiatives include solar panels to heat the pool water; high efficiency Trane air conditioners with heat pumps; high MERV rated filters for the AC units; programmable thermostats with additional humidity control for your comfort; smoke free indoors; no wall to wall carpeted rooms; timers and photocells for lights; fluorescent lighting; hot water recirculating pump to provide fast response hot water; low flush toilets and faucets; water efficient washing machine & dishwasher; and purchase of high efficiency appliances. Ultra low flow Bricor showerheads are used saving a tremendous amount of water and energy, but without sacrificing your comfort.
We recycle newspaper, aluminum cans, magazines, corrugated cardboard, plastic bottles, printer cartridges and brown, green and clear glass. We try to conserve energy & water by asking guests to reuse towels. Fresh towels are provided to each room in case some are too damp to make this possible. Linens are changed after every three nights of a guest's stay, or more often if requested.
We appreciate any help you provide in making our property greener. Green ideas and good sources for green products are also welcomed. Index cards for giving us Green ideas are on the foyer table. Leave your ideas on the table. You may also communicate ideas directly to Brantley or Anne, or in our absence, to one of the staff.
